Obituary

Lance D. Warren was born on Monday, May 21, 1984, to Lanette Warren and Michael Richardson. On the very day of his birth, his grandmother lifted him into the air and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ, a prophetic moment that would define the course of his life. From early childhood, Lance's devotion to God was unmistakable. As a young boy, he could be seen walking the streets of Larchwood and Hazel, dressed in a suit and joyfully singing "Jesus Loves Me." He preached to the neighborhood while standing on milk crates, already committed to the work of the Lord. Raised by his mother and grandmother, Lance grew up in a tight-knit family alongside his sisters Mimi, Lena, and Laura, surrounded by love, faith, and purpose. Lance completed his early education at Crusaders for Christ Learning Center, attending from Pre-K through 8th grade, where his mother served as a teacher. It was there that his foundation in Christ, service, and leadership was firmly established. He briefly attended Grace Temple during seventh grade and remained a faithful member of Greater Love Chapel, a church he was born into and deeply rooted in. Under the leadership of Pastor Sandra Beacham, Lance served faithfully in many capacities playing the drums, organ, and ultimately being ordained as an Elder in 2009. He later attended Center for Economics and Law High School, where he formed lifelong friendships with Robert, Amir, and Sakinna. After graduating, Lance returned to his elementary school alma mater, serving as a Social Studies and Bible teacher, pouring into the next generation just as others had poured into him. In 2011, Lance was ordained by Bishop David Hill and founded Mouth of God Ministries Church, and he also co-founded Legacy Christian Academy alongside his mother. He served as Director for many years, working closely with his sisters, Lynette and Lena, to educate and spiritually guide youth. During his time teaching at Crusaders for Christ Christian Academy, Lance met the love of his life, Diamond Brown. They began courting in 2011 and were later married in 2017, building a life grounded in faith, partnership, and purpose. Lance pursued higher education with the same dedication he brought to ministry. He earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Studies from Peirce College in 2021. He went on to complete an Associate's, Bachelor's, and Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Anchor Bible College, where he studied under Dr. Keith Curry, who became both his spiritual father and mentor. Throughout his life, Lance served as Pastor and Founder of Mouth of God Ministries, leading the church through several elevations, including Mouth of God Prayer Center and The Temple of Restoration and Hope, with its final elevation becoming Shabach International Ministries, under the Southern Region of Shabach, headed by Dr. Keith K. Curry. He was ordained as an Apostle in 2024 and, that same year, went on to co-found the Apostolic Council of Churches with Bishop Corey L. Simpson, with a mission to unify churches, foster fellowship, and bring more souls to Christ. A gifted writer and teacher, Lance authored three journals and one life-story book, including Wearing My Pain Workbook, which he co-wrote with his beloved grandmother, Alma Gore.

Lance's passion for children and education led him to teach at several schools, including Greater Hope Christian Academy, where he served as a third-grade teacher, and Universal Creighton Charter School, where he began teaching in 2023. There, he built lasting friendships with colleagues who later supported and served alongside him in ministry.

In 2024, Lance founded Torah Ministers Academy, serving as Director and instructor, preparing ministers to boldly proclaim the Word of God- where his first graduate would be his baby sister Laura Leftridge. Lance was deeply committed to serving his community. He was widely known throughout the neighborhood for feeding those in need through his work with Gracefully Loved Ministry, where he served as Co-Director alongside his sister Lynette. During the pandemic, he led weekly food giveaways and hosted an annual Thanksgiving food distribution, ensuring families were cared for during times of uncertainty. In 2023, Lance became the Director of Zip Code 19142 Jesus Week, a powerful initiative that united churches, ministries, and outreach teams across the Philadelphia metro area. Throughout the week, teams flooded neighborhoods with worship, prayer, service projects, and evangelism—standing together as a John 17 Movement to proclaim hope and healing throughout the city. Outside of ministry, Lance cherished time with his family and traveling with his wife, Diamond, who often persuaded him to trade his signature suits for more relaxed attire. He loved history, reading, studying Scripture, debating politics, and listening to old-school hymns, which brought him peace. An old soul at heart, he enjoyed watching Murder, She Wrote, Touched by an Angel and Quantum Leap, often with cranberry juice in hand. Lance's greatest desire was to serve God wholeheartedly to become great in the Lord and to hear the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." He especially loved preaching at funerals, offering families hope, moments of laughter, and most importantly, the reminder that life is short and reconciliation with God matters. Through this calling, he formed a meaningful partnership with Nicole Bartlett, through which he touched countless families and made a lasting impact on many funeral services throughout Philadelphia. Lance D. Warren was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Gore. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diamond Brown Warren; his mother, Lanette Warren; his father, Michael Richardson (Tarik Richardson); stepfather Dana Fuller (Donna Fuller); grandmothers Ethel Warren and Alma Gore; and grandfather Wayne Neal.
