Carl Rykard Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1962. Carl was the first born of four children, three of which was born to Ann and Carl Rykard Sr.

Carl receive his education through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and continued his education at Temple University.

Carl was employed as a health insurance sales representative, and he worked for various companies, including Aetna and Prudential.

Carl enjoyed watching sports, especially football, watching the news, particularly politics, and listening to music. Carl's passion for music was so great, that he was the founder of two Facebook music groups, Sounds from the Soul and Catharsis Jazz.

Proceeding Carl in his death was his two brother, Darryl, and Craig Rykard, and one sister-in-law, Nadine White.

Carl leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Niesha, his son Carl (Ski), his step children, Christopher, Savannah, Jorja, and Christian, his parents, Ann and Carl Rykard Sr. His father-in-law Creadell, mother-in-law Diane, a sister Kathy, a stepbrother Tim, one brother-in-law, Shawn, sister-in-laws, Nadine Rykard, Nakita, Charmagane, Olivia, one uncle, Richard, aunts, Amelia Rykard, from Alexandria Virginia, Cynthia Myers, Rita White, Deirdre Douglas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, St. Raymonds Alumni, Bishop McDevitt Alumni, and friends.
