IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine
Dow
November 6, 1937 – January 20, 2020
Christine Dow was born on November 6, 1937 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ollie and Mary Jane Ford in Sumter, South Carolina. She was educated in the South Carolina School District, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, the late Leon Dow on June 22, 1959. Once they were marred they settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a young woman, and until her passing. She was known for her vibrant personality, her humorous ways, warm loving hugs, and a love for caring for everyone. Her love for caring for people lead her to making the career choice of working as a teacher's aide in the Philadelphia School system and also led her later in life to become a care nurse at Stephen Smith Nursing Home.
She will be greatly missed by all who was a part of her life, but most of all she will be missed by: her four sons, Michael, Lawrence (Sophia), Bernard, and Tony (Robbin): three daughters, Cynthia (Arnold), Christine (Christopher) and Angela ( Wesley): thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren: and a host of brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
A New Path
All I wanted
was to spend more time
with you
But what I got
was only a few precious moments
At least I tried
to make the most
of what was left
Plans diverted
too many hurdles
never made it
to desired stage
Sorry, not much choice
Although it hurts
life must go on now
Even without you
I must continue
the life that never was
and forge ahead
A new path
guided by your light
And undoubting love
forever you are always in our hearts.
