Ethel Warren: A Life of Faith and Service

Ethel Warren was born on November 8, 1946, to the late Daisy Warren and James Robert Warren. The eldest girl of ten children, Ethel grew up in Philadelphia surrounded by the love and lively energy of her five brothers and four sisters. Known affectionately as "Dimples" growing up, she received her education through the Philadelphia School District, forming the foundation for a life dedicated to learning and teaching.

Ethel's journey into motherhood began at the age of 20 with the birth of her first daughter, Lanette. At the age of 24, while pregnant with her second daughter, Sophia, Ethel experienced a profound spiritual awakening and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. This decision defined the rest of her life. From that moment forward, she was a tireless vessel for God's word, sharing His love with everyone she encountered. She raised her daughters in the faith, taking them to the Garden of Prayer throughout their childhood. She eventually became a faithful member of Greater Love Chapel under the leadership of Pastor Sandra Beacham, where she served with devotion as a Sunday School teacher.

Ethel's professional life mirrored her heart for service. She spent many years at Crusaders for Christ Daycare, where her leadership and care led her to the role of Supervisor. Even after leaving the center, her reputation as a nurturer was so great that families continued to seek her out for childcare in her home.

The true matriarch of her family, Ethel became a grandmother at the age of 37. She played a central role in helping to raise her four grandchildren: Lance, Mimi, Lena, and Laura. She was the family's prayer warrior—the one everyone called for guidance and strength. Her witness brought many friends from all walks of life to Christ, including her beloved friends Maureen, Estelle and Bernadette, and her legacy of faith is etched into the lives of all who knew her.

Preceded in Death By: Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and James Warren; her brothers, Ronald, Russel, and Pete Warren; her sister, Dutch Warren; and her beloved grandson, Lance Warren.

Family Legacy: She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughters, Sophia and Lanette Warren; her sisters, Daisy (Michael) Ross, Hazel Brown, and Brenda Cavener; and her brothers, Stanley Warren and Albert Brown.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Lynette "Mimi" (Ronald) Peters, Lena (Brian) Fuller, and Laura (Michael) Leftridge; her seven great-grandchildren, Peyton, Mikel, Grace, Hannah, Mila, Alaura, and Ronald III; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
