Life story Fernando Ray Perry was born November 11 th , 1954 to the late Toby Perry and Liddie Bell Perry, in Jones County, North Carolina. Fernando departed this life on March 16 th , 2025. He was educated in the School District of Philadelphia, graduating from Edison High School for Boys. He was a star athlete in gymnastics, fencing, weightlifting and basketball. Fernando grew up in the Midtown Parish United Methodist church under Reverend Frank Kinsel. Fernando's most memorable times was becoming a Boy Scout; "Be Prepared" the Boy Scouts motto that he lived by. He developed long-lasting friendships at Midtown and due to social media, he was able to keep up with his peers. Fernando spent his young adult years continuing his education by obtaining certifications in auto mechanic, building contractor, chef, computer technician and truck driver. He was lastly employed at Shop and Carry pharmacy, where he developed friendships and a supportive family environment. Fernando met the late Annie Perry though his cousin Pam Simmons Suarez at Deliverance Evangelist Church in 2009. They were inseparable and married September30 th , 2014. The beloved Annie departed this earth October 21 st , 2024. Fernando never stopped talking about his wonderful wife and how deeply his missed her. Fernando's memory will always remain in our hearts. He had the ability to find the funny side of any situation by telling silly jokes and signing silly songs. Fernando's giving heart was always ready to help out friends and family with home repairs, car issues, or volunteering at Deliverance where ever he may be needed. Fernando's faith carried him through the passing of his wife and his illness. He never stopped praising the Lord and reminding others "that God is in control". Fernando was blessed with a son Christopher Raymond and Sandy Soroto Perry, grand children Anna Sorto Perry, Briza Soroto Perry and Mason Amado Soroto Perry. Four bonus children, Jeremiah Gaines, Hayward Gaines IV, Joshua Ronaldo Gaines and Rochelle Anna Gaines. Siblings that have gone home, Bobby Jean McKnight and William Taylor. Survived by Deborah and Samuel McClain, Doreen and Barry Polk, Donna Hogan and a host of family, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
