George Lee Tate was born on December 29, 1949 to the belated Ernest and Bridea Tate in Elberton, GA. They moved to Philadelphia in January, 1950. George attended the Philadelphia School System. George worked for Sears Moving Truck and Philadelphia Trash Department. George attended Second Gethsemaine Baptist Church under the leadership of his belated Grandfather Pastor Zack Tate where he was Baptised at the tender age of 10 years old.
George met Denise and Married her March 8, 1997 which he waited 2 hours at the alter letting her know that it was true Love.
George excelled in playing Chess which was his favorite hobby, and he enjoyed eating all the time. George kept everyone laughing and was bend on whatever he said was right. George missed his calling of becoming a comedian. George was well-loved and will be missed dearly.
George leaves to mourn his wife Denise, Mother-in-law Shirlee Miles. His sister, Mary Tate, brothersPoucho and Kenny Tate, belated brothers Junior, James, Robert and Willie Tate. Sisters-in-law, Roxanne, Kim, Shirlee, Sheila, and Royce Herbert, Step-daughter Octavia, 2 step-grandchildren, Tymeer and Taylor Herbert. A Host of nieces, nephews and Grandchildren.
