IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gilbert Lee
Evans
May 28, 1965 – July 12, 2025
Obituary: Gilbert Lee Evans May 28, 1965 – 07-12-25 Gilbert Lee Evans, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 60 , leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Born on May 28, 1965, and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gilbert's life was rooted in resilience and connection. He attended Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary (Class of 1977), Warren G. Harding Junior High (Class of 1980), and graduated from Frankford High School in 1983. That same year, fate introduced him to the love of his life, Tracey L. Evans. The two were married on May 8, 1993, a partnership that spanned more than three decades — filled with devotion, deep friendship, and unconditional love. Gilbert spent much of his professional life at Ford Electronics, where he was respected not only for his strong work ethic but also for his ability to bring people together.
Gilbert finally went on to JBS in 2021 until his unforeseen departure
Whether on the job or at home, he was the kind of man who made others feel seen and valued. But more than any title or job, Gilbert was proudest of his role as a father and grandfather. He is survived by his children — Gilbert Evans Jr. Deonte Evans , Chantel Evans and Khalil Evans and two cherished grandchildren, Symir Evans and Caius Hoey who brought endless joy to his days. Gilbert's home was always filled with warmth and laughter. His infectious laugh and vibrant spirit made every gathering memorable, and his steady presence served as the cornerstone of the Evans family. He taught his children not just how to live, but how to love: fully, honestly, and without condition. He is also survived by his devoted wife, Tracey; his loving parents, Luther and Mary Evans; and his brother Craig Evans. He now joins in eternal rest his brothers Ricky and Gregory Evans, whom he missed deeply. Gil will be remembered for his humility, his humor, and the kind of strength that doesn't shout — but is felt in every hug, every word of encouragement, and every memory he leaves behind.
Best Friend/ Brother : Jerry Alston. Childhood brother:Clifford Jones and childhood friend and sister, Anna Terreforte; his Lima Street Crew; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends brought endless joy to his days
