IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenford
Carthy
July 17, 1952 – August 2, 2020
We are gathered here today to reflect on the life of Glenford Carthy, a man of solitude and humility whom God called for saying, "It's time to come home, my son".
Born in St. Margaret's Bay of Portland Jamaica to the parents of Rudolthy Thompson and Norval Carthy, to which he was the fifth of eight children.
Glen's early life portrayed him as a skilled tailor and factory worker, manufacturing paper bags. At age 21, he met the beautiful Romela Spencer *cough cough* whom he married and settled down with in 1980. The couple birthed three beautiful children, Sean, Renae, and Andre. Years went past and Glen left for Philadelphia to begin a new chapter of his life. He would go on to become an accomplished truck driver, traveling state-to-state, an opportunity that he enjoyed and took full advantage of — spending most of his offtime working on vehicles, a hobby he fell in love with.
In the years that followed, Glen sadly would become engulfed in sickness, later succumbing to it and leaving behind six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his siblings to live on. Glen, you imposing figure of a man, you will be dearly missed. Friends and family, let us celebrate the remembrance of Glen and mourn the loss of a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. God bless you all.
