IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ivy Maria
English Jones
August 14, 1970 – November 1, 2024
Ivy Maria English-Jones, born on August 14, 1970, was a shining example of determination and love who touched the lives of everyone around her. She was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Joyce P. English-Hatcher and Walter Mac, who provided her with unwavering support throughout her life. Ivy grew up in Philadelphia Pa , specifically on Perth Street with a host of cousins she was close with and where she discovered her capacity for kindness and positivity in the face of life's challenges. Although she attended Kensington High School, she later took the initiative to earn her GED online, demonstrating her tenacity and dedication. A passionate basketball enthusiast, Ivy shared her love for the sport with her children, instilling in them the same spirit of perseverance she embodied. When she became a mother, her journey transformed, but she embraced her new role with grace and warmth. In May 1988, Ivy welcomed her first daughter, Charlene P. English, followed by her second daughter, Jacenta M. English, in March 1990, and her son, Joseph D. Tindell-English, in April 1994. Her marriage to Charles Jones in May 2000 added even more joy to her life as she became a nurturing mother once again to Sabree Jones. Ivy's heart swelled with pride when she welcomed her first grandchild Terrell English and family meant everything to her. She dedicated herself to caring for her cousins and those in need, treating them as her own. Ivy had a selfless spirit and, without hesitation, she would do anything for those she loved. As we reflect on Ivy's life, it is important to recognize that while her physical presence has come to an end, her spirit will continue to shine brightly. We can find solace in the belief that we return to God, who reminds us that death is a part of life's journey. Instead of sorrow, let us celebrate the love and joy Ivy brought to our lives and appreciate every moment we've shared with her. Her unwavering passion for helping others led her to become a foster parent, where she opened her heart and home to countless children. Later, as a compassionate home care worker, she continued her mission of kindness, leaving a positive mark on the lives of many. Ivy was a genuinely loving, God-fearing person who demonstrated the remarkable strength of the human spirit and the transformative power of love. Ivy's legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those she cherished, and her memory will continue to inspire compassion and love in all of us.
