The Life of Jake Kelly Sr. Jake Kelly Sr. was born on October 8, 1939, to John Kelly Sr. And Martha McGirt Kelly in Latta, South Carolina. He attended Pinehill Elementary, Latimer Junior High and Latimer High School. He wanted to be a mortician, but his dad wanted him to play baseball and had scouts come out to see him, but he had other dreams. Jake graduated from Latimer High School, class of 58', where he met his wife, Betty Lou Whittington. They were married on June 17, 1963. Through this union came John Kelly in 1964. Shortly after they moved to Philadelphia where three more children were born, Angela Kelly, Jake Kelly Jr., and Keisha Kelly. Jake Kelly Sr. Worked as a Foreman for Panna Construction in Somerdale, New Jersey where he retired in the 1990's. He also worked as a truck driver and handy man. After retiring, he moved back to Latta, South Carolina for a brief period of time before moving back to his final resting place, Philadelphia PA. He's preceded in death by his beloved parents, his wife Betty Kelly, his siblings James Tillman Kelly, Nellie Mae Kelly Gibson, Jesse Kelly, Roceta Kelly McKinnon, John Kelly Jr., Priscilla Kelly Williams, Susie Kelly, and Frank Kelly. His best friend Exodus Hayes and his grandchildren Marquis Winston, Kierra Kelly, and O'Shae Sibley. Leaves to celebrate his life, his sons Rick Whittington (Deirdre), John Kelly, and Jake Kelly Jr. (Jackee). His daughters, Linda Wilson, Angela Kelly, and Keisha Kelly. One sister-in-law, Geneva Kelly, a host of nieces and nephews, special nieces Chris and Alice, 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a Goddaughter, Annie Evans. Jake Kelly Sr. will be remembered for his comedic spirit, words of wisdom, sense of humor and his too smooth dance moves. Submitted with love, the family
