LIFE STORY

Joseph Elmer McClain, son of George McClain and Pauline Matthews. Joseph was born on July 22, 1946 in Baltimore Maryland. He departed this Life April 27, 2023 after a lengthy illness. He received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools. Joe worked for Laborers International Union of North America Local 710, for 19 years. He later married Portia Smith on August 28, 1977. Their beautiful children, Antoinette, Wanda, Kevin, and Kirk McClain, were their greatest accomplishments. Joeseph attended Grace Church, Shrewsbury for 10 years. He was known to friends as Joe Hookie. He was a Friend to many, Father figure and Inspiration to his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He leaves to mourn, his Loving Wife Portia McClain, two daughters, two sons, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, Sisters; Carrie Bailey, Amelia Jones, Michonne Smith, Rochonne Fair, Brothers; Ruben McClain, Michael McClain, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
