This portion of the obituary was written by me, Juanita P. Moore, prior to making my transition to being with the Lord. I was born as Juanita Jones on January 4th, 1933 to my parents Mack and Estella Jones in Savannah, Georgia. My parents had ten children: Charlie, Warren, Cornell, Ernest, Clarence, Morris, Mable, Cynthia, Oliver and myself. My parents and siblings have all preceded me in transitioning. By the time I was 11, I had already lost both of my parents. I moved to Asbury Park, New Jersey to live with my brother Clarence and his family. After completing high school, I relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I married James Moore. God then blessed me with one child - the beautiful and talented Sonja Moore (Williams). My most rewarding job was working as a case worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. I hit the ground running there, putting in twenty years of service. It wasn't easy, but I won't complain. Written post-transition Juanita was passionate about her family and friends. She was also passionate about her hobbies and interests. These included music, sports and pinochle. As a younger woman, she loved to play her records. This love of good music carried through to her later years, as she was always the life of the party with her tunes at the senior centers she attended. In her middle-aged and early senior years, Juanita loved to bowl. She participated in leagues for several years. She was an avid bowling watcher as well, often tuning in whenver it came onto her television schedule. Juanita loved watchng sports. She was a die-hard Eagles, Phillies and Nittany Lions fan. The only thing she loved more than watching the games was getting analysis from her great- grandson Equille. She enjoyed many long conversations with him on all of the sports going on in the city and across the various leagues. She was most passionate about playing pinochle, where she would regularly, in her words, "kick butt and take names." She played often at senior centers around the city and at pinochle parties with friends. A no-nonsense player, she did not have much patience to teach the game. The only teaching she did was the lessons she gave her opponents when she rubbed their heads. Juanita truly was a light in any room that she entered. Her infectious personality, big smile and joyous spirit impacted all that she came in contact with. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on in all of the people that were in her life.
