Life Story

Lorraine Frinks

Our beloved Lorraine Frinks was born on January 25, 1961, to Dorothy Dawkins and John Willie Lassiter at Temple University Hospital.  She accepted Jesus Christ into her life as her Lord and personal Savior.  She was baptized and became an active member at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Over the years, she volunteered and participated in different axillaries and events at church and in her community.  Her strong faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her life.  Lorraine transitioned on her birthday, January 25, 2024, at Jefferson Einstein Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Lorraine was educated in the Philadelphia School System, and she graduated from Kensington High School.  She earned her Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Philadelphia.  She worked diligently and obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Childcare Management from Chestnut Hill College.  She graduated with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude!

Professionally, she worked at Colonial Penn, Temple University for eighteen years, and the University of Pennsylvania.  She was an entrepreneur, a four-star daycare owner, an early childhood educator, and home healthcare aide.  She fulfilled her calling in life which included showing the compassion of God, serve others, and being a unifier!  She was a licensed Life Sharing Mentor, and for seventeen years she opened her home and provided care to Nannette (Nan) Whitfield.

Additionally, she was a very creative woman with many gifts and talents.  Lorraine had a passion for cooking, baking, wig making, and tending to her house plants.  She loved to sing, dance, and she brought light, life, and laughter to each occasion.  She enjoyed shopping, self-care, and she was the epitome of style and fashion.  She traveled extensively to various destinations around the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbeans islands.

Lorraine was affectionately called "Rain or Rainey".  Daily she cultivated a life of love, prayer, and positivity. Lorraine's legacy will continue to live on through her daughter Megan Tucker, and her three grandsons Jaidyn Irving, Eric McCauley Jr., and Maverick McCauley.  She is also survived by her mother Dorothy Dawkins, stepfather Hayes Lonnie Dawkins, fiancé Elmer Blackstock, and sister Effie Tamika Tucker.  She leaves behind a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins, multiple best friends, friends, and associates to cherish her memory.  She is preceded in death by her brother Lonnie (Trail) Tucker, father John Willie Lassiter, and Grandmother Savannah Tucker.

The hand of God was truly upon Lorraine, and she walked in blessings!  She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of countless people.  Lorraine was beautiful both on the inside and outside.  There are not enough words to express our love and respect for Lorraine; though it seems too soon, she will forever be missed by all that know her and love her!
