IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Muriel J.
Booker
October 12, 1937 – December 15, 2025
In Loving Memory of Muriel "Lump" Booker
Muriel Booker peacefully departed her earthly home on December 15, 2025, at her residence in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the age of 88 years young.
Muriel was the youngest of three siblings born to Viola and Herman. She received her education through the Philadelphia School System. Muriel later met and fell in love with Toussaint Booker, and together they built a beautiful family. She was a devoted and loving mother to four children: Regina Booker-Hinton, Renee Booker-Biggs, Laurie Booker, and Ronald Booker who blessed
her with her beautiful grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren!!!
A woman of faith, Muriel attended St. Elizabeth Church until they closed, then she transitioned to St. Martin de Porres Church, where she loved to worship and fellowship with her church
family.
Muriel dedicated 38 years of faithful service to the Women's Medical College Hospital, working
in the Central Processing Department until her well-earned retirement.
Affectionately known as "Lump" by family, friends, and neighbors, Muriel was truly one of a kind. She was the kindest and most giving person, always willing to go above and beyond to help
anyone in need. Her heart was as big as her love for others.
Muriel enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved chocolate, enjoyed talk radio, coffee, in her later years found great joy listening to her favorite artist, Luther Vandross. She took great pride in her appearance—especially her hair—and was a fashionista in her own right.
On her feisty days, Muriel was known to firmly declare,
"DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID?" And everyone knew exactly what that meant.
Muriel "Lump" Booker will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved
her.
Lump was loving and feisty until the Lord called her home and she received her crown. SHE
WILL BE TRULY MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!
Muriel "Lump" Booker leaves to cherish: One beautiful daughter, Renee and One amazing son, Ronald. She was blessed with 13 beautiful grandchildren: Gawon, Shonza, Craig Jr, Ronald, Nyelle, Naqiyl, Kevin, Tiffany, Malachi, Nakita, Diana, Jihad, Hassan and a host of great-grandchildren, Nieces, nephews and
friends.:
