Mr. Otis Battle, son of the late Alex and Christianna Burgess Battle, was born in Halifax, North Carolina on December 11, 1944. Otis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and joined the White Oak Baptist Church located in Enfield, North Carolina. He attended the Halifax County public school system and continued his education and training in the state of New Jersey for most of his career. After retiring, Otis relocated back to his hometown, where he spent most of his time reconnecting with relatives, friends, and neighbors. During his final days, he had an opportunity to travel back to New Jersey, where he spent time with his children, grandchildren, and family. Otis entered into eternal rest at Virtua Willingboro Hospital in New Jersey early morning of October 1, 2024..
He leaves to cherish his memory, the mother of his children, Roxanne Cason, one daughter, Shutiya Carson, one son, Otis Dion Carson (Kiwanna), Six grandchildren, Jarett, Ni'jah, Keonna, Sanora, Siniya and Zaire. Eight Great Grandchildren, Malachi, Kayson, Sa'ni, Day'von, Kamari, Keyondre, and twins, Major & Mehki. Four sisters: Mrs. Bessie Cooper of District Heights, MD, Mrs. Queen E. Lee (Calvin) of Rocky Mount, NC, Mrs. Florence Bert (McKinley) of Hollister, NC and Mrs. Christina Harris (Victor) of Blairs, VA. Three brothers: Mr. William Mack Battle (Mary), Rocky Mount, NC, Mr. Clifton Battle (Vickie) of Garfield, NJ, Mr. Linton Battle of Enfield, NC. Three sister-in- Laws, Mary, Dorothy and Darcelle Battle. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Christianna, five brothers, Jessie, Clinton, Earnest, Charles and Glenn Battle.
