IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reginald Arness
Ford
February 25, 1952 – March 31, 2022
Reginald Ford was born on February 25, 2022 in Rockridge county Lexington Virginia to the Late Dorothy Lee Ford of North Carolina. He resided in Virginia with his grandmother, two aunts (Georgia and Frances), and his cousin John (Georgia's son). When Reggie was 5 his mother and her siblings moved up north to Philadelphia, but he stayed in Virginia with his grandmother. When Reggie was 12 years old, he took a train all by himself from Virginia to Philadelphia to be reunited with his mother. Upon his arrival he found out that he had become a big brother to a handsome 5 year old little boy named Todd. Reggie adored his little brother and helped his mother take good care of him. Reggie and his mother resided in the Strawberry Mansion area. First at 33 rd and Diamond, and a few years later at 33 rd and Monument. It was in this neighborhood that he met the love of his life, Patricia Ford. They were inseparable. They attended Fitzsimmons Jr. high, Strawberry Mansion High, and Dobbins high school together. After attending Dobbins for one year, Reggie transferred out and later graduated from Edison High school. After graduating, he joined The United States Coast
Guard. A year later while stationed in Texas, he requested that Patricia join him, and she did. They soon returned to Philadelphia and the two became one on November 27, 1971. Reggie was then stationed in Richmond Virginia where their first child Erika Dorothy was born. Reggie served four years in the US Coast Guard. Twelve years later Regina Michelle was born and added to the Ford clan. As life would have it Reggie and Patricia separated a few years later. He then moved to Norristown and in 1991 his third daughter Teyana Nicole was born. During this time, he began his career as a drug and alcohol counselor and in 2013 he became a Certified Recovery Specialist. Reginald spent most of his career in the field at Eagleville hospital where he received many accolades and achievements while helping many men and women in recovery change their lives around. He touched many lives and built lifelong bonds while working at Eagleville. He served the clients at there for 24 years before he fell ill and had to resign. Reggie was known for that handsome smile and for being a sharp dresser who had to have a hat to go with every single outfit he wore. He loved all types of
sports including college and professional football, college and professional basketball, boxing, and tennis. He was a diehard Eagles and Sixers fan. Reggie always kept in touch with Patricia who he considered to be his best friend and as God would have it in 2015, they were reunited and resided together until his passing.
Reggie was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Ford, Aunts Georgia Harper, Frances Harrison (Elijah Harrison) and Brother Todd Alan Ford. He leaves to cherish his memories, Wife-Patricia Ford, Daughters-Erika, Regina, Teyana Grandchildren-Rasheed, Lauren, Jordin Great- Grandson Giovanni Nieces-Sabrina, Tammy, Aisha Nephew-Terrell and a host of cousins and friends.
