IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Renee
Haynes
February 25, 1961 – January 6, 2025
Renee Frances Haynes was born on February 25, 1961, in Philadelphia, PA to Mary Barnett Collins, and Henry Allen Burton. On January 6, 2025, she received her angel wings at the age of 63.
Renee was raised in Philadelphia with her three older siblings: Carol Robinson, Paul Barnett, and Greta Century. She attended Olney Annex High School and later earned a certificate in cosmetology.
While attending Olney High, Renee met her future husband, Bernard Haynes. Together, they had their first child, Bernard Haynes (Little Bernard), on June 3, 1979, followed by twins, Brian and Brittany Haynes on April 21, 1988, and Brandy Haynes on January 13, 1990. Renee and Bernard relocated to Charlottesville, VA, where they dedicated their lives to the church, joining Bethel Church of God in Christ.
Renee became a pillar in the community, while working with college students at the University of Virginia (UVA) and helping at-risk teens through the Youth Alive Center, which she and her husband founded.
Renee had the gift of making anyone laugh, and her charisma brought people close to her, fostering deep friendships. She was like a mom to many, not just her biological children. She was known for her wisdom and heartfelt advice. She also had the ability of prophecy to know when things would happen and warn people of the visions God gave her. She often guided her children with this ability.
Renee will be fondly remembered by many close friends in Philadelphia, PA and Charlottesville, VA. There is not enough room to mention all of them. Among her dearest friends was Lorraine Eakins, with whom she shared a bond with for many years. Renee and Lorraine were best friends, and their children became family. Lorraine was called home on June 30, 2019—a loss that deeply impacted Renee. Now, she will be reunited in peace with her best friend.
Renee's legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including Bernard Jamar Haynes, Brian James Haynes, Brittany Camille Haynes, Brandy Renee Haynes, Hadaesha Mary Estella Haynes, Natalia Simone Brooks, Zion James Haynes, Zamari Bernard Haynes, Seniaa Renee Tune, Sanazz Myaire Tune, Luna Jessica Nielsen, and Isla Dae Nielsen. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, (Renee
Renee was very close with her niece and nephews, Camille Brown, Steve Dennis, and Robert Dennis), and her older siblings mentioned above.
Renee will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bernard James Haynes. The two will rest in peace together.
Renee is gone in physical form, but she will never be forgotten. Energy cannot be destroyed but only transferred. Renee has transitioned into her spiritual form, and she will live forever.
We will miss you, Renee...
We will miss you mommy…
