Rickey Lee Johnson passed away surrounded by love at the age of 67 on Friday, December 24 in his home after a long battle with cancer. Rickey was raised in North Philadelphia by his parents Robert and Doise Belle Johnson. Rickey came from a big family, he's number 12 out of 16 children. Rickey received his education through the Philadelphia Schools system and worked for several entities, Captain Joe's being his favorite. Rickey played on a neighborhood football team called the Cheifs, where he was nicknamed "White Shoes". Playing football is where he was discovered by the love of his life, Denise Johnson. Rickey and Denise went on to spend over 40 years together, married for 35 of them. The two recently renewed their vows on Rickey's last birthday. Coming from a big family, naturally family and friends were always very important to Rickey. He helped create a brotherhood, Men Incorporated, and was apart of it from start to finish, putting together a slew of cabarets, excursions, and events. Also, as a family man, Rick always threw holiday parties and cookouts. Not only was Rickey was well known and well respected amongst family, friends, and strangers; he was also LOVED by all. Even Rickey's doctors favored him. Rickey was preceeded in death by his parents, Dosie and Robert Johnson, sisters, Robin and Maggie and his mother in law Netty Mae Chaney. Rickey leaves behind the love of his life, his wife, Denise Johnson, his only son, Errick Graham, 4 daughters: Tonya, Nichole, Ericka, and Rickea, 7 grandchildren: Brianah, Errick Jr., Brittany, Jahmier, Nash, Noah, and Emani Lee, 4 sisters: May, Leola, Retta, and Regina, 9 brothers: Joe, Robert, Moe, Curtis, Himeed, Ray, Ronald, Sam, and Larry, and also a father in law, Clarence Chaney. Rickey leaves behind a slew of nephews and nieces to whom he loved dearly. Lastly his childhood friends who he had the pleasure to grow old with, Rick loved you all.
