IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Anthony
Kirby
July 30, 1966 – June 4, 2020
Robert "Tony" Kirby a.k.a. "Tony", a.k.a. "Spike" was born on July 30, 1966 in Philadelphia to the late Robert Kirby and Lavenia Kirby (Elliott).
Tony was the oldest of five children and the first-born son. He was educated in the Philadelphia school system. Tony attended William D. Kelly middle school where he played basket ball and learned the love of sports. There he won a trophy for first place in the school's talent show by singing a son. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School where he was on the football team and ran track in Philadelphia Penn Relays. From ther, Tony enrolled in the Government Job Corp Program located in Chesapeake, Maryland. There he received his G.E.D. and a certification as a licensed bricklayer. He also learned his skills as a cook.
All who knew Tony knew that he loved his brothers and his family. Tony was the family's entertainer, he loved to crack jokes to make you laugh. He loved music, he loved to sing and dance, he also loved the game of pool, and WOW, was he good at it! And boy-oh-boy how he loved, loved those birds...his Philadelphia Eagles!! He will be sorely missed.
Tony went to his eternal rest on June 4, 2020. Tony passed peacefully.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lavenia, his baby sister Jennifer, and not to ever be forgotten, the love of his life and his "better half", Shirley Sloan.
Tony leave to cherish his memory his brothers, Derrick, Shawn, Mark, and Manny, sisters Kimberly and Yvonne (Kim), Stepmother Laura, sisters-in-law, Celeste, Bonnie and Tonya, nephews Devon, Brian, and Shawkir, nieces, Kyli, Tarae, Jessica and Sianni, aunt Connie and uncle Jimmy.
