Sydney G. Millwood  was born March 20, 1933 in Constant Spring / Kingston Jamaica W.I. He was the only child of Adriana Louise Walters Millwood and Herman Augustus Millwood.

Sydney attended Swallowfield Primary School in St. Andrew, and at an early age he became the church organist for Mamby Park Baptist Church.

At the age of 21, Sydney became a soldier when he joined the Jamaica Regiment Battalion which was the main formation of land troops in the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF), and at that time Sydney became a member of the Mystic Rose Mechanic Lodge. Sydney also worked as a chauffeur during the course of his life.

Sydney married his love Ceslyn Amanda White who predeceased him May 4th, 1987, and from their union they had four sons: Oliver, Roderick (Ricky), Paul, and Calvin.

In 1967 Sydney and his wife were sponsored by Richard and Marion Herman to come and live in the United States. After they settled in Philadelphia, PA, he sent for his children to give them a chance at a better life.

Sydney worked as a Production Manager for Cantol Chemicals. He was responsible for the manufacturing of all chemicals used by every major business in Philadelphia, and after a career at Cantol Chemicals, Sydney was hired by Key Chemicals where he continued working in the industry until his retirement.

Upon his retirement, Sydney moved to Plantation, Florida where he married Olga Cato Connell. After Olga passed away on November 25, 2006. Sydney returned to Philadelphia.

Sydney was a member of William Penn Lodge #5 and served as the Illustrious Grand Master.

Sydney leaves to cherish his memory his four (4) sons, twelve (12) grandchildren, (14) great grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, and lodge members.
