Sifu "Wayne Edward Watkins" was born on June 1, 1952 at the Philadelphia General Hospital. Wayne an only child was born to the late (mother) Edith Watkins and (Father) Edward Smith. Wayne grew up in Philadelphia , Germantown area Uptown, Brickyard. He attended school in North Philadelphia and Uptown, graduating from Germantown High School in 1970. Wayne continued his education, attending "Cheyne State College" major in "Sociology". During this time Wayne became very involved in Community and Political Affairs. Wayne joined the Community Organization called the "United Progressives", working in the the "Community Relations Committee". In the early 70's, Wayne began to work with the late State Rep. David P. Richardson Jr. Wayne was a dedicated Community and Political Activist. In his spare time, Wayne found time to start a love affair with the Martial Arts "Kung Fu". Wayne excelled in the arts competing in many " Kumite". Through his Community involvement and wanting to give back, he partnered with the "Germantown Boys Club" and began to teach Martial Arts to children in the Hood.

Wayne also worked with the "Waring House" and "Morton House" Community Centers teaching Martial Arts, and Community Outreach "Wayne Edwards Watkins" was a dedicated tireless Community Worker. He loved everyone and had no enemies, was loved by all who knew him. Most recently he developed some Medical issues leading to problem related to Diabetes. Wayne Edwards Watkins was called Home to be reunited with his parents on March 24, 2020. Wayne passed peacefully in bed at home "RIP".

Wayne leaves to mourn his Passing Family, Cousins, and many, many, Loving Friends. Never forgotten "Sifu"
