Barbara Peterson Obituary

There once was a queen named Barbara T. Marks.  She was born on August 26, 1947 on to the loving arms of the late Great Earle and Edwina Marks.  Hand Chosen, hand selected, and hand picked by God, This queen was no ordinary child.  She loved being a leader amongst  her friends and playmates.  She had a very vibrant  personality, second to none like no other.  She had a energy that was contagious and a smile that was outrageous, a language of love that was all her own, a listening ear and a child of no fears so we thank her for her tender years.

Lady Barbara was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, where she excelled in every fact of her vocation even 2 ginger years at Temple University College.  Later Lady Barbara met and married Ambassador Payton Carl Forrest and from that union they had two children Camille Celeste Forrest and Payton Cordell Forrest.  In 1985 Lady Barbara remarried the Late Charles Eugene Peterson.

Lady Barbara had a gift with children that was indisputable and phenomenal.  Children of all ethnic backgrounds gravitated to wherever she was.  She so loved flowing in her gift that she became a teacher in Philadelphia Public School System at George Washington Carver School located and 17th & Norris Street in North Philadelphia, Pa.  After retiring as a teacher, Lady Barbara was still driven to use her gift with children, so she went to school and obtained her CDL license and became a bus driver for children for about 10 years.

Lady Barbara has one brother Richard Earle Marks who she loved growing up and enjoyed times with her brother.

Lady Barbara loved her parents dearly and she expressed this by helping her mother Queen Edwina take care of King Earle until he transitioned to his heavenly home.  When her mother Queen Edwina was having health challenges she took care of her.  Every doctors appointment, every meal and whatever her desire was she was by her side.  She was a display of Love until she  transitioned to heaven as well.

Lady Barbara continued to enjoy her family and friends always using love and humor to keep everyone feeling special.

Saying Goodbye for now is never easy but God gave his unmerited easy but God gave his unmerited Favor and Graciuos Grace and made it easy for the transition form earth to glory while at home right in her daughters arms, on her daughters birthday.  What a divinely appointed miracle that was.  God is amazing, No Panic, No problem, No pain only Christ to gain.

She leaves to cherish memory and legacy, her daughter Camille Celeste Forrest and son Payton Cordell Forrest, a brother Richard E. Marks, His wife, sister in law, Lenora Marks, Aunt Minnie and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
