Clarence Chaney

October 15, 1940 ~ April 4, 2022 (age 81)

Born in South Philadelphia Clarence Chaney  was raised by his mother Lucille Chaney and his grandma, Big Ma. He received his education from the Philadelphia School system in his primary years and eventually started working to support himself. Clarence was no stranger to hard work, but believed in working smarter not harder. He worked as head manager for Tots and Teens and kept his family dressed to the nines. Clarence most notably worked as a Forman for Local 332.

As a teenager, Clarence met the love of his life, Netty Mae Chaney. The two were inseparable for almost 60 years. After getting married they raised two beautiful daughters together, Bernice and Denise. Residing in North Philadelphia for the remainder of his life, Clarence was well known and highly respected by all. Everywhere he went, someone knew and loved him.

Clarence lived his life to the fullest. He retired, vacationed, and spent each day-his way. He loved good eats, fashion, television, and most importantly family. Although spoiling his family with love and affection was his favorite thing to do, he was a stern leader.

Clarence is proceeded in death by his lovely wife Netty Mae Chaney and beautiful daughter Denise Johnson. He leaves behind his daughter, Bernice Bonaparte; his son in law, Gregory Bonaparte; his sister, Julia Parks; his niece Lorraine Pajil, his nephew, Clarence Slater, his brother in law, Jose Slater, cousin in law, Marlene Slater, a great nephew, Little Clarence, 5 grand children, Nicole, Josh, Ericka, Rickea, and Gregory Jr. ; 6 great grandchildren, Jahmier, Saniyah, Jasir, Nash, Noah, and Emani Lee, as well as tons of close friends who were just like family.
