Deirdre Dolores Brown was born to James and Dolores Brown on February 22,1962 in Philadelphia PA. Deirdre was educated in the Philadelphia School District.Deirdre graduated from West Philadelphia Community School in 1982.
Deirdre accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and attend Union Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was baptized and served on the Junior Ushers Board. In 2014, Deirdre joined New Bethany Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Scott. Deirdre also enjoyed virtual fellowship with the congregation of Gethansane Worship Temple Center.
Deirdre was a devoted daughter,mother, grandmother,sister and aunt ,her family loved her tremendously.She absolutely loved and cherished each one of her family members. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Deirdre was always the life of the party and certainty knew how to have a great time, especially when she was partying with her family. She really knew how to have a good time in any setting. People really loved her candor, sense of humor and infectious smile.
Deirdre was an excellent cook and earned the title of the best macaroni and cheese and cabbage chef in the. family. She loved to cook for her family, and often took over cooking and hosting all of her family’s holiday meals.
Deirdre was highly competitive and could master any game of skill presented to her. She mastered the game of pool, any card game you could imagine and she even was a great video game player., saving the Princess countless times on her favorite video game, Super Mario Brothers.
She loved to make the competition spicy by adding a monetary wager, in other words she loved to gamble and was quite good at pressing her luck and winning many, many card games against family, friends and strangers alike.
Deirdre loved all genres of music, but R& B and Gospel were her favorite ,she absolutely loved signing along to any Teena Marie song.She often told the story of going to see Teena Marie in concert and Teena Marie signing Deja Vu while staring directly into her eyes and Deirdre instantly cried tears of joy.
Deirdre loved to travel and really enjoyed her frequent trips to Atlantic City. She loved speeding the Boardwalk and the casino floors in her electric scooter.Even in her illness she was determined to live her life to the fullest. Nothing stopped her from doing the things that brought her joy.
Greeting her in heaven are her parents James and Dolores,her siblings;Renee, Cheryl, Linda and Kevin, her grandson Ryan Joy and her great nephew Isiah.
Her legacy will live on through her children, Brandon(Lanessa)Brandy, Justin and Brittany, her grandchildren, Niyae, Tizir,Tiejere,Chloe,Justin Jr,Chance,Isiah,Bethsheba,Lana,Tala(Sweet Sweet),Barandon Legend, Masya, Aziz,Jade and Mariah.
Her sister Denise, her brothers Gary Sr and Carlton,3 Aunts,1 uncle, a host of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.
