John Charles Bradley, who was affectionately known to his friends and family as, "Brad", was born on January 26th, 1937 in Mississippi. Although John lost his mother at a young age, in youth he moved around with his family due to his father’s military background. John settled down in Mount Airy, Philadelphia with his bride Leah Bradley whom he married on August 30, 1958. They went on to raise seven children together, and now have seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Brad enjoyed family gatherings, meeting his best friends in the park to talk and socialize, and found peace sitting in nature. He loved to laugh, to tell jokes, and to reminisce on good times past. John was passionate about home ownership and was proud of having been able to purchase multiple real estate properties through savvy business decisions and hard work. He encouraged those around him to be financially responsible and tried to pass his knowledge on to others. But Brad was not afraid to “tell it like it is” through his old school values.
He was also fiercely independent for as long as he was able to be and was adamant about continuing to drive until his was 83 so that he could help his family members do such things as getting to and from doctor’s appointments, the grocery store, run errands, etc. Assisting his loved ones in this manner was very important to Brad and one of the ways he showed that he cared.
Brad who passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on December 14, 2021 was predeceased by his son, Michael Bradley, son-Stanley Bradley, daughter-Karen Bradley, daughter-Sheila Bradley, brother-James Edward Bradley, and leaves behind his ex-wife Leah Bradley, daughter-Maria Ann Bradley, son-John Charles Bradley Jr. (Stevie), son-Rodney Bradley, daughter-Donna Duffield, and son-in-law-Preston Duffield. Grandchildren: Teresa Glady, Kaleah, Larry, Lawrence, Lamar, Jonathan, and Ashley. Great grandchildren: Unique, Skye, Isa, Alia, Dayan, Zoin, Karendeliz, Malia, Kayla, Ezra, and Egypt.
Brad will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
