Linda was born on September 28, 1964, to Betty Ann Townes in Philadelphia. She was the fourth child out of six. Linda gave her life to Christ at age 14.
Linda met the love of her life, Kenny Toler, whom she married, and from that union, her only son, Holland, was born.
Linda graduated from Murrell Dobbins High School, earning her High School Diploma, and continued her education at Norfolk University, earning her associate degree. Linda also perfected her culinary skills at OIC of Philadelphia.
Linda spent 34 years working for the city of Philadelphia, 30 of which she worked as a Judicial Secretary for the Honorable James DeLeon. Linda was also the backbone and the success of Knappy Knicky’s Soul Food Restaurant with her excellent cooking skills.
Linda was a great mother and friend. It was never a “no” with her. She always had a place at her table for any guest who was hungry. She would have been a millionaire if she had a dollar for every person she fed. Her life was about giving and serving people. Linda was that person you call day or night. She was the counselor, motivator, and problem solver. To know Linda you knew greatness.
Linda always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, she will be sadly missed, but from her, we learned that joy always comes in the morning.
Linda loves to cherish her memory, her son, Holland Toler, 2 Brothers, Lawrence and Dennis, 2 sisters, Annette and Barbara, a host of stepchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, and Uncles- proceeded her death, her husband Kenneth Toler, her mother and father Willie & Betty Townes, one brother, Tyrone Carter.
