Marvin Blair, was born July 1, 1963, at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia, PA., to the proud parents of the (late) William Blair Jr. of Sumter County, South Carolina and Ann Blair of Autaugaville, Alabama. Marvin was educated through the Philadelphia public school system. At an early age Marvin became a member of Open Door Baptist, of Philadelphia, under the leadership of the (late) Rev. B.F. Johnson. He later attended The Christen Church of Philadelphia, under the leadership of the (late) Pastor Houston Sr. Marvin worked with his father and brothers at their father’s detailing shoppe and held various other jobs.
In 2019, Marvin’s health started deteriorating, but despite the constant bad days he tried to continue to be the life of the party. This allowed him to forget the pain and fears he was feeling about death. Marvin had a love for music and dancing the two-step with whoever would dance with him. He left us with lots of sweet memories of songs that made you hop up and do the two-step. If he had it to give Marvin never denied sharing.
The beginning of this year until the end we knew you were having discussions with God thanking him for opening your eyes another day through your pain. On September 29, 2022 God knew you were tired of the struggles and he decided it was time for you to come home and rest. On that day as God’s child, Marvin received his wings knowing “to be absent from his sick body, meant to be present in the presence of the Lord”.
Marvin Blair, leaves to cherish his memories: Mother Ann Jackson-Blair, Two brothers, Larry Blair of Palmyra, New Jersey, Bryant Blair of Philadelphia, Two sisters June Terry of Pennsauken, New Jersey and Sadie Blair-Lomax of Philadelphia; two brothers-in-law, thirteen nieces and nephews: twenty great nieces and nephews; 8 great-great nieces and nephews, and a host cousins and friends.
Marvin will sadly be missed by the family and friends.
