Maxine Martin Shouse was born September 1, 1948 to Florence and Allie Avery she was educated in the Philadelphia school system. She was married to Fletcher, Martin. And was blessed with four boys, Anthony, Troy, Lamont, and Donnell. (Troy and Lamont proceeded her death.) after her divorce from Fletcher Maxine worked at the Philadelphia race track where she met the love of her life Jesse Shouse. And was happily married until the death of Jesse last year She enjoyed her job that she worked for over 15 years until the race track closed. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She was a caretaker for her father, for as long as he was home and went to visit him often at the nursing home.
She also enjoyed going to Virginia to visit and help her brother Bernard and go shopping with her niece Janel and would stay for weeks
She was a volunteer at vacation Bible school at Friendly Friends Baptist Church
and she was one of the favorites of the children.
Maxine love playing pinochle over her sister’s house with Jesse , Marguerite & Fred she would play cards all night long against Jesse and Marguerite and Fred as her and partner. I can just see them all up in heaven, getting ready for another marathon of pinnacle. She also loved to go to the casino with her husband, Jesse And enjoy going as often as she could.
She was always a strong woman who loved her grandchildren. It was always there for them. She was also a blessing to all her nieces and nephews.
Maxine loves art & craft she would make all kinds of beautiful things to put in her house. and was always patient ready to teach anyone who wanted to learn. she loved music and would listen all day long on her tablet to the oldies but goodies
Although Maxine had been sick for a while she never complain and talked about how happy she was living with her son Tony and grandchildren, and that her youngest son, Don took good care of her when she was home and if she was in the hospital all she wanted to do but get home to her grand children and eat anything that wasn’t hospital food she always prayed that the Lord will bless and take care of her sons and grandchildren

Don’t cry for me now that I’m gone Stay happy and strong, because I’m where I belong up here in heaven, no more pains or tears my loved ones around me, and my Jesus is near. Stay happy and strong and do what’s right. Trust in Jesus so when the time is right I’ll hold you again in my arms so tight. Mom
She leaves behind her 2 sons Tony & Donnell Brother Bernard Avery Sister Arlene Gray Grandchildren, great grands and great great grand children nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
