Robert Tomlin Jr. was born to Robert Tomlin Sr. and Rosalee Carmichael in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his education from Germantown High School. After graduation he spent a brief time in the United States Army.
Robert’s early years produced two son’s from a previous marriage Lamont “Monty” Tomlin and Robert “Little Junior” Tomlin III. Throughout most of his adult life he worked in the scrap metal industry as a metal sorter until he was injured in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in his disability from work and eventual retirement.
His second and final union of marriage was with Marilyn (Gooden) Tomlin and from that union produced Eva Tomlin. Robert was affectionately known as Junior, he loved old western movies, comedies, deep sea fishing, telling jokes and a true Philadelphia Eagles fan. Everyone who knew him was aware that he told some of the most hilarious jokes and stories.
On October 20,2020 Junior entered his eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Phillip, Clarence, and Richard and lastly his sister’s Kathleen and Patricia. His memory lives on with his wife Marilyn (Gooden) Tomlin, brother James Tomlin Sr, sister Christine Tomlin, and sister-n-laws Elaine and Earlene Tomlin, Children Robert Tomlin Jr, Lamont Tomlin and Eva Gooden-Tomlin, as well as step children Dirk Gooden, Maxayn Gooden and James Gooden. Robert also leaves behind a slew of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will forever be remembered and kept in our hearts.
